Helping Children Cope with Anxiety
Name: Helping Children Cope with Anxiety
Date: April 4, 2017
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
Clinical Psychology Associates, NAMI Racine County, and Burlington Area School District are pleased to have Dr. Mervin Langley and Dr. David Taylor share information about “Helping Children Cope with Anxiety” in this FREE presentation. While it is normal for all children to experience occasional anxiety, some children experience situations where it can be so overwhelming it affects their daily routines, school performance, peer relationships, and family relationships. This presentation will assist parents/caregivers in gaining a deeper understanding of their child’s experience with anxiety so they can help with anxiety management and coping. While Dr. Langley will talk about how anxiety manifests itself, along with strategies for targeting anxiety, Dr. Taylor will talk about the biological treatments that may be available. After the presentation (approximately 7:30-8pm), Dr. Langley and Dr. Taylor have allotted time to answer specific questions that have been pre-submitted by attendees. If you have a question, please email it to Lori Radtke of BASD at LRadtke@basd.k12.wi.us. They will try their best to answer as many questions as possible after the presentation.
